5 Things You Should Know About Energy Healing

February 23, 2017

I've always been that person who knows a little about a lot of things; it always seems to come in handy when you're talking to people. After all, there's nothing more embarrassing than when you say something you think you know and someone catches you out.

With alternative therapies on the rise, you may have heard the terms "energy healer" or "distance healing". To help you win hipster points with your friends, here are 5 things you should know about energy healing:

Everything we think, every emotion we feel, and all matter is made up of energy. All energy has its own vibration. Higher vibrating emotions are positive and lower vibrating emotions are negative. We interact with other people's energy everyday, so it's no wonder that sometimes we take on their negative energy.

Everyone has their own energy that is controlled by their energy systems, much like your body is controlled by your body systems (nervous system, circulatory system etc.). Your energy knows what's going on with you, so when healers tap into your energy they can tell immediately where to start working, much like a doctor assessing your ailments/injuries and knowing what to treat first.

The best healers are the ones who are confident in what they do because, when they shift the negative energy and restore the positive, they do so by intent. The healer's energy transfers by the power of thoughts and emotions straight to your energy. I like to use Dr. Masaru Emoto's water crystals as an example. He exposed positive and negative words, emotions, and music, on water and crystalised the samples to see the effect on the water. Positive words made beautiful shapes whilst the negative words looked chaotic in comparison. Think about it... we are made of about 60% water!

Image below is from Dr Emoto's study on water crystals:

Energy is not bound by time or space as it exists everywhere. Your thoughts are powerful and just as you can feel a connection to someone on the other side of the world, you can feel their energy, too, if you connect to them. I always like to think of those maternal instincts, where a mother can sense when something is wrong with their child. All that is really required is a connection, and for healers to work on you they have to be connected to your energy. A simpler way of looking at it is like calling someone overseas on a mobile phone, only energy has the ultimate signal with no drop outs because energy is everywhere so coverage is not a problem.

You know how talents or similar shaped noses are passed down through your DNA? Yup, that's how I got a little of my grandfather's Polish nose! Well, our ancestors energetic gifts and emotional baggage are also passed down through our genetic memory. Most of the time, it remains dormant but sometimes high stress situations can activate negative emotions, which can change the way we think or feel and, in turn, affect how we behave. This most commonly shows up in the form of fears.

For example, one healer always had a fear of her grandfather's trophy room. It had stuffed heads of all the animals he had hunted and it made her feel fearful every time she went into that room. So she worked on her energy and discovered it was generational fear of that room, passed down through her genetic memory. At a family reunion, she was surprised to discover that other family members didn't feel comfortable in that room before either, but were now feeling fine about it. Oh, and did I mention that once a generational issue is released for you it's released for all your family (past, present and future)? Pretty cool, huh?

On another note....

You know how some people say that they had a dream they were someone else and believed it was a previous life? What if it's not reincarnation but rather genetic memory? Food for thought!
